Amanda Johnstone | Visual Artist
Based in Melbourne, Australia, Amanda Johnstone has been a partner of an international Italian furniture, lighting, and art showroom for the past 13 years. With inspiration around every corner, being located in such a culturally rich and diverse city allows her to explore her interest in art and beauty everywhere she goes. Amanda’s art is a mixture of her passions and desires for contemporary art, photography, and interior design. Her specialty involves merging striking colors and textures with fashion icons and landscapes, resulting in a truly stunning collage effect. From feminist nudes, to luxury fashion served in rich hues, every piece is designed to celebrate femininity.
Amanda’s diverse training stems from a strong background in fashion, makeup, and design. She holds a degree in fashion design as well as a diploma in makeup artistry, with a concentration in fashion and film. Her influences are closely related to these topics, as she loves pop art and high fashion meshed with a sense of contemporary luxury.
| WORDS OF WISDOM
When asked what her advice would be to other creatives, she had this to say: “Social media is your friend! Create, get it out into the world, and do not be put off, as it takes time for the first piece to sell. Always back yourself and align with people that you admire and share the same values with. Don’t be afraid to reach out to people and ask if they want to collaborate, as this is the new way of marketing.”
