Hanyck Yousefi | Photographer
Hanyck Yousefi is a photographer based in Iran whose black and white style has made him stand out from the crowd. He applies this approach to several of his works, ranging from fashion to concept art.
| ARTISTIC FLARE
On the topic of his stylistic interpretation, Hanyck explains, “I started to make black and white art pieces in 2015 when I discovered that removing color from an image improves the emphasis on its intrinsic elements, making the image bolder. Also, the image’s varied textures become visible, thus providing a vivid and distinctive viewpoint to the subject.”
| WORDS OF WISDOM
For creativity, Hanyck draws inspiration from legendary American photographers like Irving Penn and Arnold Newman. And to improve on his technique, he practices something close to the Ancient Greek aphorism “Know Thyself”, which essentially means to spend time understanding the inner workings of your mind, with the intention of bringing out the best version of yourself.
More than five years after his creative awakening, Hanyck has steadily put his mark on successful campaigns for several brands in Iran. Recently, he collaborated on a music video for the Paydar band and participated in an impressive photo collaboration with the Degaran tribe. Aside from working with clothing and fashion brands, Hanyck also does illustrations, content creation, portraits, and street photography.
